Who We Are
Fashion Roundtable is the only think tank dedicated to reimagining a responsible, inclusive and sustainable industry.
Fashion Roundtable delivers creative leadership to solve the world’s pressing social, environmental and economic problems, with a focus on creative industry issues, heritage crafts, our industrial legacies, and innovation-led future, creating policy roadmaps to address these with social purpose-driven solutions.
We face an exciting but challenging opportunity to rethink, reimagine and rebuild business models, based entirely on sustainable frameworks, which place the planet and people first. Now is the time for businesses, industries, investors and nations to design and implement new systems that decarbonise, transition to net zero, protect nature, nurture creative talent, and support collective progress.
As the secretariat for the only All-Party Parliamentary Group focused on the fashion industry’s transition towards social justice and sustainable ambitions, Fashion Roundtable is uniquely placed at the nexus of sector expertise and political insights, allowing us a pivotal and uniquely powerful role at the intersection between industry, creativity and policy.
From the sector’s first diversity and inclusion report, through to a radical rethink of economic strategy with our work on the Wellbeing Economy, and policy objectives which incentivise sustainable businesses, Fashion Roundtable is at the forefront, creating analysis and solutions which offer a new vision, where planetary boundaries and regenerative practices are intrinsic to an innovative and inclusive creative economy.
We build active partnerships with industry experts, business leaders and partners, to improve and support the fashion industry, ensuring the voices of the workers and businesses are heard by developing independent evidence-based data insights, research, and reports.
Fashion Roundtable is proud to partner with Bath Spa University, University of the Year for Social Inclusion 2024, in the establishment of the National Centre for Fashion and Sustainability (NCFS). Based in Bath, the NCFS is a space where leading thinkers, learners, businesses and communities connect and drive the fashion and textile industry toward new, regenerative practices that are healthy for people and the planet. The Centre will run research and projects that explore every step of the fashion and textile journey, from farming practices, remaking, natural dyeing, zero waste design and garment end of life, to critiquing and transforming economic models, political drivers and new modes of teaching.
Fashion Roundtable is a not-for-profit, non-partisan, independent voice.
