
Back in 2023, Fashion Roundtable engaged in a number of snap surveys with stakeholders from all facets of the sector, as well as industry meetings, which provided a strong overview of the current landscape and the key challenges and proposed solutions to support the sector to lead on sustainability, social justice, increased social mobility for working-class children, and increased revenue for UK GDP.
In 2024, this research led us to deliver our ‘Sector Vision’ for the fashion and textiles industry in Parliament, as part of our role as Secretariat to the Ethics and Sustainability in Fashion APPG to a wide range of stakeholders within the sector. John McNally MP and Secretariat Fashion Roundtable’s CEO, Tamara Cincik, chaired the poignant panel discussion about the future of the sector, where panellists Junior Bishop – a Zebedee Model and Advocate for Minority Groups; Clare Press – Fashion Roundtable’s Global Sustainability Expert, Author and Podcast Host of the Wardrobe Crisis; Julia Roebuck – Volunteer Director of Thread Republic (Mend Assembly Affiliate); Maria Chenoweth – Co-founder of Charity Super.Mkt; Dominique Muller from Labour Behind the Label, brought our work and discussions to life.
